With cleaner color, greater vigor, better branching, larger flowers, and greatly improved form and substance, Alcazar brought the power of the tetraploid to the iris world. Virtually every other iris in cultivation at the time was diploid.

This is a very vigorous and sturdy plant with a wonderful fragrance.
